Vi har under veckan som gått bland annat fått lära oss om hur lätt det är att ta reda på information för att utöva social engineering med målet att hacka system. Vi har också fått mer inblick i hur systemen hänger ihop och fått veta mer om upplägget på kommande kurser i Linux och Java och vi hade också ett intressant pass då vi följde med en servicetekniker som tog hand om utrustning som strulade hos anställda på Jordbruksverket.

Vi avslutade veckan med lite mys med film och popcorn.

Can’t believe it has been a month already since we started at Lantmännen. Where did the time go?

Sooo, since us trainees don’t see each other that often because of different geographical location (except the Stockholmers :)), few weeks ago we decided to meet up and visit some of Lantmännen’s factories in Skåne, southern Sweden

Initially, it was Moa, Johan, and Anton, who are placed in Copenhagen and Malmö respectively, who were invited to visit these facilities, but then they thought hmm the more would be the merrier, so they invited all of us to come and join the fun…and so we did!

First stop, we got the chance to look closer the grain handling process at Lantmännen Lantbruk in Helsingborg. We were accompanied by the operation manager who explains the flow of grain when they arrive from our owners, sorted, cleaned, then kept inside the silos, maintaining the grain quality, before being distributed to different Lantmännen’s businesses. There are 300 grain silos in total that are ranging from hundreds of tons only to thousands of tons. It is quite a busy activity but thanks to modern technology, almost all of them are operated automatically. Awesome!

Second stop is pancake factory at Laholm. As heavenly as it sounds, we could look closer at the production of Lantmännen’s pancakes using only the best ingredients. Of course we had the chance to taste the products (so yummy!) and little tour inside the pancakes factory. The production line tour did not only show of how pancakes are made, but also how they are packed in boxes, down to the point where they are stored inside huge freezer, ready to be transported to customers. Since the area needs to be sterile, we had to wear protective caps, robes and shoes to avoid contamination with the products, but we could still took some pictures deliberately.

Nu har vi avslutat våran fjärde vecka på Jordbruksverket och den har varit fullspäckad med information!

Vi har fått lära oss en massa om Jordbruksverkets IT-infrastruktur och enheter som jobbar med bland annat IT-support, incidenthantering och driftsättningar. Det var riktigt intressant att höra om hur organisationen hanterar sin hårdvara, datalagring, och nätverk. En annan rolig grej den här veckan var att vi fick besöka Jordbruksverkets kundtjänst och lyssna en del samtal som de tog emot. Idag startade vi även igång vårat Java-projekt som vi kommer att arbeta med dom närmaste veckorna när vi har möjlighet. Vi har under veckans gång enats om vilken typ av projekt vi ska göra och planerat grundligt med bland annat diagram, user stories och krav. Idag tog vi tillfället att börja koda genom s.k. Mob-programmering!

Nästa vecka fortsätter vi lära oss om infrastruktur och annat gött.

This week it’s me, Hugo, who will tell you about my first time at Lantmännen and my position for the first rotation, which took me to Swecon.  For those of you that are not fully familiar with the construction equipment industry (as me for example, at least not yet!), Swecon is the reseller of Volvo Construction Equipment in Sweden, a large part of Germany and the Baltic states.  I will be stationed at the Swecon Headquarters which is located in the same building as the Lantmännen HQ in Stockholm, which also means moving back to my home town after five years of studies in Linköping, exciting!

At Swecon I will conduct a market and competition analysis within the mySwecon-project, which is a digital platform developed to give the customer an overview of its machine fleet, and simplify and digitize the customer’s relation with Swecon. For me, somewhat of a rookie in both digitization and (especially) construction equipment it’s been all about diving into an ocean of new terms and concepts in order to get an understanding of the task and structure the execution of the project. This will certainly be a recurring theme during the trainee program and it feels really exciting to get the chance to explore a number of completely new territories during the upcoming 15 months!

The first three weeks have been just as fun as hectic, and already at the second day at Swecon we went to Germany to participate at Nordbau, a large fair for construction equipment, exhibiting everything from wheelbarrows to excavators. Really an amazing start in order to get an initial understanding of what the business and competition is all about! At Nordbau mySwecon had a booth in the Swecon-tent in order to show customers the soon-to-be-launched mySwecon, and even myself held a few customer demonstrations.

So in short, it was a couple of days full of learning, customers educated about the mySwecon-platform and me picking up my first german words: baumaschinen (construction equipment), kraftstoffverbrauch (fuel consumtion) and betriebstunden (operating hours), who would have thought! 🙂

Den här veckan har vi fått lära oss mer om lean och agilt, med fokus både på teoretiska begrepp och på hur dessa utvecklingssätt används i praktiken på Jordbruksverket. Det har varit en blandning av PowerPoint-presentationer, praktiska övningar och intressanta studiebesök på de olika avdelningarna, under ledning av en av Jordbruksverkets teamledare och två av förra årets traineer. Det har varit en rolig och lärorik vecka med intressanta diskussioner och trevliga fikapauser.

Vi har även fått lära oss mer om hur bland annat verksamhetsexperter, kravanalytiker och systemförvaltare använder sig av domändriven design för att underlätta samarbetet, och vi har också börjat diskutera Java-projektet som vi ska genomföra tillsammans. Dessutom har vi fått reda på lite mer om hur kundtjänsten jobbar på Jordbruksverket.

I onsdags kväll anordnades det LAN i Team Atlas som några av oss deltog i och tyckte var kul.

Nästa vecka blir det bland annat besök i servicedesk, medhörning i kundtjänst och teknisk baskurs.

Nu har andra veckan i traineeprogrammet nästan passerat, vi har precis haft vårat andra retrospektiv där vi gick igenom vad som varit bra denna vecka samt lite om vad som kan bli bättre inför kommande veckor, vi var alla överens om att utbildningarna varit bra och veckan har varit intressant och lärorik! Speciellt uppskattade vi utbildningen i GIT, hur de fungerar samt vilka riktlinjer de har på jordbruksverket. Vi i gruppen börjar lära känna varandra lite bättre, vi har fått igång utvecklingsmiljöerna på datorerna så att vi kan börja knacka kod på riktigt 🙂

Veckan har varit ganska intensiv med mycket intern utbildning där vi har fått en bättre förståelse för hur de olika systemen är uppbyggda och fungerar bakom kulisserna! Vi har även lärt oss utvecklingsmetoder och arbetssätt inom Jordbruksverket och därvid fått bättre förståelse för verksamheten i sin helhet.

Vi är alla taggade på lite självstudier nu på fredag eftermiddag samt en vecka med LEAN/AGIL utbildning nästkommande vecka!

A warm hello from sunny Norrköping,

Vanessa is here and on this post, I am really excited to share my experience as a trainee at Lantmännen!

For my first rotation, I get the privilege to do the assignment at Lantmännen Agroetanol, an energy division located at Norrköping, eastern Sweden. (Fun fact: Agroetanol is the largest bioerefinery in the Nordics with production of almost 25 tonnes of bioethanol (yes, that fuel that you add to your gasoline) per hour!). Apart from bioethanol, we are also producing feed products for livestocks and liquified CO2 known as carbonic acid that attracts customers from food industry.

For my assignment, I will investigate the traceability of protein content in our feed products, right from the delivery of the raw materials up to the loading of logistics to the customers. Sounds trivial, but I can assure you it is absolutely not :p

This field is completely new for me, but this is when the fun parts come 🙂 My project instructor has given me a free space so I can decide how I would like to execute this project. Therefore, I could be creative, show some initiatives, and point out critical points since this project is basically my “playground”, but of course from time to time I still need his supervision. Also an important part in this project is networking. To be able to collect data, I need to talk to a lot of people from different professional areas. This is the part where I got to polish my communication skills and an opportunity to start building contacts. Some can be approached through lunch, mails, or as simple as coming by their offices. To have their various insights and linking them together on this project is interesting but also tricky 😉 All in all, so far I can say Agroetanol provides a friendly environment and a welcoming atmosphere for a new employee like me.

For me, being a trainee (even though it has been 2 weeks only) is definitely pushing me out of my boundaries, in a good way of course 🙂 I don’t mind at all because I realize this is one of the ways to enhance self-development, so I am up for the challenges! Bring it on!

A big welcome to Lantmännen’s trainee blog! During the following 15 months you will be able to follow nine excited, eager and curious trainees during our rotations within the Lantmännen group.

It has now been little more than a week since our three introduction days that initiated the programme. These were spent at Säby Säteri (40 min outside Sthlm) and were packed with fun! Interesting lectures about the company´s vision and strategy, its diverse business and the strengths of dedicated owners (25 000 farmers!) were alternated with team building, farm visit, photo shoots, and meetings with parts of the Group Management Team and former trainees.

After leaving the introduction days filled up with Lantmännen-wisdom, new friends and latest clothing trends (see picture for proof) it was time to relocate to start our first 3-month position.

Hej!

Jag heter Ingela och jag är ny trainee på Jordbruksverket. Jag är 36 år och jag är uppvuxen i Emmaboda. Jag läste den tvååriga utbildningen “Webbprogrammering” på distans på Linnéuniversitetet och tog ut min examen 2016. Jag tycker nu det ska bli kul att få fördjupa och utveckla mina kunskaper och få en inblick i hur det fungerar praktiskt på IT-avdelningen på Jordbruksverket.

Efter gymnasiet var jag au pair i London i ett och ett halvt år, och efter det läste jag Europastudier, först vid Malmö högskola och därefter vid Lunds universitet. Sedan jobbade jag som assistent på EU-kommissionen i Bryssel mellan 2008 och 2011. Hösten 2011 jobbade jag några månader som översättare i Riga, och sedan bar det av till Bryssel i två omgångar igen, först hösten 2012 till våren 2013 och sedan från januari till juni 2014. Då jobbade jag som assistent på Regionkommitténs och Europeiska ekonomiska och sociala kommitténs gemensamma översättningsenhet.

Nu har vi klarat av den första veckan på traineeprogrammet och det har varit en bra första vecka. Igår spelade vi shuffleboard och åt på O’Learys tillsammans med förra årets traineer, vilket var trevligt.

Eftersom vi har sprungit runt som yra höns i korridorerna och försökt lära oss att hitta i byggnaden den här veckan kommer här ett kort på en höna:

Sebastian heter jag, en av de nya traineerna här på Jordbruksverket.

Nyinflyttad i Norrahammar precis utanför Jönköping. Tidigare bodde jag i Växjö där jag studerade på Systemvetarprogrammet på Linnéuniversitetet, tog min examen i informatik därifrån precis innan sommaren. Sedan dess har jag gått och längtat efter att få påbörja min tid som trainee här på Jordbruksverkets IT- avdelning. Nu är dagen kommen och första introduktionsveckan har äntligen kört igång!  Mycket nödvändig information har tagits emot, datorer, skärmar och annan utrustning har packats upp och jag är taggad på vad som skall hända härnäst!

På fritiden ser jag gärna på film och serier, tränar samt umgås med vänner. Har ett stort intresse för programmering och jag ser fram emot att utvecklas och lära mig mycket under dessa nio månader som jag har framför mig.
